Introduction to historical sports at the Musée de Vieux, south of Caen

The museum of Old-la-Romainesouth of Caen (Calvados), is organizing a week ofintroduction to historical sports from Monday July 18 to Friday July 22, 2022.

On this occasion, visitors will be invited to put on their sneakers to come and learn about various ancient sports (long jump with dumbbells, arms race) or medieval sports (archery at the papegai and medieval sword).

45 minute sessions

Specialized sports educators will be present for these 45-minute sessions, open to children from 6 years old and adults (price of 2 € in addition to the museum entrance).

Reservation is required on vieuxlaromaine.fr. Sessions will take place each day at 10 a.m., 11 a.m., 2 p.m., 3 p.m., 4 p.m. and 5 p.m.

A weekend dedicated to Rome

The following weekend, July 23 and 24, will be dedicated to Rome. Indeed, a weekend of demonstrations and initiations to travel to Roman times is planned by the museum: gladiator fights, Gallo-Roman fashion show, Auspices ceremony…
