HSV: Ogechika Heil stays, Aaron Opoku for the time being too – 2nd Bundesliga

Busy office. The advisors of Ogechika Heil (21) and Aaron Opoku (23) also had an appointment with sports director Jonas Boldt (40).

It was about the future of the two homegrown players, who had returned to Hamburg from their loan clubs in the summer.

Heil (contract until 2024), who last played in the Netherlands with Go Ahead Eagles (28 appearances), will probably stay at HSV in the new season. The bosses are satisfied with how Heil has presented itself in the preparation so far.

What suits him: On the one hand, the winger used to play right-back in the U21s. The club needs a backup after the Vagnoman departure. On the other hand, the financial resources are limited.

Opoku (contract until 2024) will also stay for the time being, despite several offers (including Rapid Vienna). Should HSV bring reinforcements for the flank, a later change is possible.
