Heavy defeat for Schreuder’s first at Ajax

The former Club Brugge coach must do without his internationals for the moment. Magallan was on the field.

Alfred Schreuder, who left Club Brugge at the end of the season after winning the title, is now the coach of Ajax. This Saturday, the Ajacides played the first friendly match of the season in Paderborn.

Despite a brace from Ihattaren, the reigning Dutch champions were heavily beaten 5-2. Paderborn’s goalscorers are Obermair, Conteh, Ofori, Sberny and Iredale. Magallan, a former Anderlecht defender, was the starter. Schreuder has rotated his roster extensively and given playing time to many young core players. Internationals like Blind, Tadic or even Martinez were not present. Haller, Gravenberch and Onana left the club.
