FC Bruges wins the Belgian Super Cup against Ghent (1-0)

Sunday evening, Club Brugge won 1-0 against La Gantoise, in the Belgian Supercup. Thanks to the goal of Skov Olsen (39th), the Bruges won the 17th Super Cup in their history after a meeting under control. The start of the match was to the advantage of the people of Bruges, and Roef had to work from the start in front of a close range attempt from Vormer, found by a cross from Meijer on the left (8th). After about twenty minutes, La Gantoise managed to emerge, first with a breakthrough from Hjulsager to serve Cuypers, but his cross did not find a taker in the dangerous zone (20th).

Ghent then took the lead, with a strike from Nurio (36th) before a goal from Tissoudali, who took over a millimeter cross from Samoise behind the defense (37th), but the Moroccan was offside. And Bruges took their chance to punish their opponent in stride, when Skov Olsen entered the area from the right flank to strike low and deceive Roef with the complicity of an unfortunate deviation from Ngadeu (1-0, 39th).

Upon returning from the locker room, La Gantoise showed her will. Tissoudali was surprised to inherit a ball within six yards, but crunched his shot from close range (48th) before Hjulsager fired a shot from outside the area to wake up Mignolet (55th).

In the last quarter of the game, the Buffalos tried everything to equalize, sometimes getting dangerously close to Mignolet’s goals, especially on set play. Odoi had to work to stop a dangerous breakthrough from Tissoudali (70th), but most of the Ghent assaults did not result in clear chances. The Club used its experience to defend its lead and afford a new trophy.
