Chez Reavie remains in control, status quo for Pavon and Lorenzo-Vera

On the eve of the last round, the two French representatives still in contention at the Barracuda Championship stood still during the moving day on the course of the Tahoe Mountain Club. Installed at the controls since his excellent second round, Chez Reavie can foresee a 3rd victory on the PGA Tour.

The 40-year-old from Kansas now has a 6-point lead, At Reavie’s. With 5 birdies and a bogey, Reavie did not experience the same success as the day before when he scored 19 points!

His main pursuer is the Scot Martin Lairdquadruple winner on the PGA Tour and author of one of the best cards of the day. His three birdies on his last three holes boosted his points total to 13 on Saturday.

In this modified stableford format, players score 5 points for an eagle, two for a birdie. A bogey is equivalent to a lost point and three points are subtracted in the event of a double bogey or more.

The French in retreat

Thus, although having achieved a better score in stroke play than his compatriot, Mike Lorenzo-Vera (69) scored one stroke less in the game formula used for this tournament and fell 4 places in the standings. With 3 birdies and 1 bogey, the Basque is now in 44th place.

Author of an eagle at 12, 3 birdies and 5 bogeys, i.e. a card of 71, Matthew Pavon added 6 points to his total and moved up one place. The Bordelais will have to do better to hope to grab a top 10 in this 2nd co-sanctioned PGA Tour tournament DP World Tour disputed on US soil.
