It’s over!

Robert Lewandowski (33) leaves FC Bayern!

The change of superstar is finally over. The top Bundesliga scorer of the last decade is moving to FC Barcelona! The fee: 45 million euros fixed plus 5 million bonus payments!

According to BILD information, there was still a lot of haggling over the sum: Barca offered 45 million fixed or 40 million plus 10 million bonuses. In the end an agreement was reached.

For a player Lewandowski’s age with only one year left on his contract, that’s a hefty sum – and a prize that included Oliver Kahn’s “Basta”!

Lewandowski signed a four-year deal at Barca until 2026! In Munich he was only offered an extension until 2024.

According to BILD information, everything was clear shortly after midnight on the night from Friday to Saturday: After eight years, Lewandowski’s successful chapter with the German record champions is over.

Barca had sent a new, fourth offer to Munich on Friday, as BILD reported in the morning.

Bayern had demanded a transfer fee of 50 million euros before entering into negotiations and resolving the contract with the world football player (until 2023).

Barca boss Joan Laporta confirms the next offer at 4 p.m.: “Bayern has not yet responded to our offer. I can not say more.”

Late in the afternoon poker got moving. Both parties negotiated intensively, suddenly everything pointed to the change.

That means: Lewandowski will no longer appear in the arena for the team presentation today (3 p.m.). So Bayern fans won’t see him anymore…

Rückblick: On Friday morning, Bayern’s superstar first managed the treble: for the third time in a row he was provocatively late for training, this time he drove up at 9:08 a.m. During training, he then stood professionally on the pitch like the day before, but not overly enthusiastically. It was Lewandowski’s last Bayern training session!

At 12:52 p.m., his driver pulled him out of the back entrance of the Bayern underground car park and sped away. Probably for the very last time!

Now Lewandowski is relieved: He’ll go on a US tour with Barcelona on Sunday – when all the checks and signatures have been done – and then fly directly to Miami instead of going to Washington with Bayern on their US tour. Lewandowski thanked his advisor Pini Zahavi (78) that night. He had kept fighting, and in the end the deal was made possible by his good relationship with Barca President Joan Laporta. Zahavi is said to describe the deal as one of the most difficult and biggest of his long career. At the end with a happy ending…
