This game is a very special one for football fan Julian Nagelsmann (34)!
For the very first time there will be a football game on Saturday evening (1 a.m. German time) in the famous “Lambeau Field” of the Green Bay Packers, and it will be a real hit: Bayern vs. Manchester City.
Nagelsmann: “The Packers are one of my favorite teams, it’s a great experience to play the first game here. It’s really cool to play here, a great stadium.” After practice on Friday, he even caught up with Packers coach Matt LaFleur to discuss match plans.
On Saturday it’s against ex-Bayern coach Pep Guardiola (51). Nagelsmann used to admire him: “When he was Barcelona coach, I watched a lot of games, it was a new, impressive way of playing football. Lots of ball possession, attack pressing. As an opponent, you didn’t have a second to catch your breath. You have to find your own style, that’s important. But it’s certainly not a mistake to take a few ideas from one of the best coaches in the world.”
And Nagelsmann raved about another star from England – Tottenham striker Harry Kane (28). When asked about Bayern’s interest in the Tottenham striker, Nagelsmann said: “He’s very expensive, that’s the problem. Kane is a brilliant player, one of the two or three center forwards that can really play that position. The last two years he played a little lower than number 10. He has a very strong body, good feet, a good header. It could be possible that he scores a lot of goals in the Bundesliga. I don’t know the exact price, but it’s very difficult for Bayern. We’ll see what happens in the future.” Sounds exciting…

First of all, Nagelsmann absolutely wants to win the dress rehearsal against City before the season opener: “We play a different formation than the last game. Another attacking game. It’s important to win the game. I want to see a team that attacks.”
Nagelsmann even thinks it’s good for the game that the field in Green Bay is narrower, since Bayern “had problems with the right distances anyway.”
Winger Kingsley Coman (26) is already hot for City: “We want it to be a nice game for the fans. We want to play a good game to have a good feeling for the first Supercup game against Leipzig.”
