World of sport in mourning for the disappearance of one of its historical figures: Antonino Salvatore Intraguglielmo. This afternoon, at 3 pm, in the church of San Romano, in Valdibrana, it will be possible to give him the last farewell. Sixty-six years old, he had long since retired after working for a major supermarket chain, in which he was responsible for opening new stores, a job that had led him to travel the length and breadth of Tuscany. But then a heart attack forced him to leave the business. And over the years, his heart problems were joined by those in a kidney, which had forced him to have a transplant. To take him away, a worsening of his heart disease, which in a few weeks led him to close his eyes forever, Wednesday. He leaves his wife Catia and daughter Alice, who had given him three beloved grandchildren.

To give the news of his end, the Arcieri del Micco, of which he had been vice president for over ten years. “Salvatore was among those who 22 years ago decided to continue the excitement of archery in Pistoia – the company recalled in a note – giving life to our association. Historical figure of the Pistoian archery movement was dedicated since almost 30 years of teaching this discipline, in particular to young people to whom, with commitment and devotion, he transmitted the passion for this beautiful sport “.

The president of the association, Alfredo Vettori, remembers him with emotion in his voice. “It was a true friendship, ours – he says – every evening, if we didn’t see each other at the camp, we spent a good half hour on the phone. We had established a special relationship, a true friendship. They had renamed us the Mimì and Cocò della Company. Together we built the new shooting range, then we designed the archery courses, which brought many people closer to our sport. We carried out the maintenance of the structures together, he loved using the lawn tractor. We were organizers. also of the historical group, within the Company, to participate in the Uisp Sagitta Toscana tournament. He had done, in Rome, the instructors course for the disabled, an activity in which he felt particularly involved and which he carried out with great passion and dedication “. Many messages of condolence came to the family and the company, to greet, as former teammate Ruggero Giannelli said, “a simply wonderful person”.
