EM final in Wembley: Today we’re popping* England | Sports

The big EM final at Wembley |

Today we POPP* England!

As of today POPPing gets a whole new meaning – namely “victory historically”! Because Germany’s captain Alexandra POPP (31) will lead our team to the European Championship triumph in Wembley against England. And Germany stands behind her – just as it once did behind Fritz Walter, Franz Beckenbauer, Lothar Matthäus and Philipp Lahm!

The game will kick off at 6 p.m. German time in the legendary stadium. For Germany it is about European title number 9, England wants Europe’s crown for the first time.

Our girls are made hot by the euphoria at home. And from national coach Martina Voss-Tecklenburg (54), who yells at her starting eleven before the game.

GET THAT THING GIRLS!

However, there is bitter news before the final: DFB striker Klara Bühl (21) was so excited for this game. But her dream of Wembley has burst. The Bayern player definitely has to pass because of Corona. Although she is symptom-free, she is still positive.

A negative test on Sunday before the game would be enough to be operational. But Voss-Tecklenburg says, “We’re following medical protocol. It is clear that in the event of a negative test, we will first do all the tests. We owe her that.”

The motto for the final is definitely set! Alexandra Popp (31) on BILD TV: “We played at Wembley in 2019. Even then, everyone was against us. That was a little sample. Silencing Wembley will be a nice feeling. That is our goal.”
