Contigo.-La Rinconada will open its third covered sports pavilion before the end of the year

La Rinconada (Seville) will have a third covered sports pavilion, which will be added to the Fernando Martn and Agustin Andrade pavilions, before the end of 2022. The investment exceeds three million euros. Of these, just over a million are subsidized by the Seville Provincial Council’s Plan Contigo. The Consistory contributes 1.9 million euros of its own funds.

This new facility, on La Union Avenue and on which interior work has already begun, has a surface area of ​​nearly 6,000 square meters and has a sports court with three auxiliary courts for handball, basketball, futsal, hockey, tennis, volleyball, rhythmics, mini basketball and badminton, according to information provided by the Rinconero City Council to Europa Press.

It also has changing rooms, stands for at least 250 spectators with the possibility of expansion, urbanization, landscaping of the plot and parking. The new complex comes to increase public services in the area of ​​La Union and in “emerging” neighborhoods, in “a space of proximity” to the highway and the viaduct, in addition to “economically revitalizing the environment by attracting sports events and events”, underline the aforementioned sources.

The mayor of La Rinconada, Javier Fernndez (PSOE), together with the mayors of Urban Habitat, Jos Manuel Romero Campos, and Sports, Rafael Fernndez, recently visited the space to find out how the works are progressing and declared that “sport is source of health, guarantor of a multitude of positive values, a meeting and socialization point and an example of quality of life, in addition to involving the generation of employment”.
