César Guzmán: President of Patriotas asks for resignation of Fernando Jaramillo | Colombian Soccer | Betplay League

La Dimayor did her thing again on the fourth day of the BetPlay League 2022-II. Not only because of the large number of games postponed for the Copa América Femenina in a Colombian competition that must be accelerated due to the World Cup in Qatar, which is just around the corner. Now the issue is that América de Cali vs. Cortuluá was played at the Doce de Octubre Stadium, a sports venue where Tulueños usually serve as locals.

In this way, they gave Cortuluá two ‘matches’ in their stadium, despite the fact that, against America, it was the Scarlets who appeared as locals. However, from the venue only in the fixture, because they could perfectly well have postponed the game so that it could be played at the Pascual Guerrero once the Copa América Femenina ends on Saturday, July 30.

Without a doubt, this did not go well at all in América de Cali, and it was not only the Cali team that was uncovered against Dimayor, but also the president of Patriotas Boyacá, César Guzmán. The president of the boyacenses strongly criticized Fernando Jaramillo, president of the entity that regulates the Colombian Professional Soccer tournaments.

In the first instance, César Guzmán exploded saying in an interview with Javier Hernández Bonnet on Blu Radio, ‘President Fernando Jaramillo has to resign from Dimayor because he does not offer guarantees, something smells bad here, everything has to be cleaned up, he enjoys my appreciation, but today it does not provide equanimity’.

At the same time, he explained why he made that decision to speak against Dimayor for the locality of America in Twelve de October. ‘When I found out that América was going to play at home in the Tuluá stadium, I called President Jaramillo and he told me he didn’t know. Being the president, a momentous thing like that I should know. How do you delegate such important things to the manager? I called the manager (Vladimir Cantor) and his response was that he didn’t think this was inconvenient that he didn’t find a sporting advantage.

Immediately, I told the manager that I found his answer disobliging, to say the least, and that I asked for his resignation. The manager of the Dimayor has to ensure sporting balance and openly states that it is not inconvenient for a team to give away the hometown’. In turn, he added, ‘in the Dimayor they had the opportunity to correct it, but I am surprised that the match was played. That is why I am asking that President Jaramillo resign, he does not provide balance, he does not have equanimity.’

With the bad decisions of the Dimayor, in the head of Fernando Jaramillo, César Guzmán is not the only leader who expects Jaramillo to leave office. ‘The resignation is not only requested by me, there are many more indignant presidents. Sport has to be carried out based on transparency, balance for all,’ concluded the president of Patriotas de Boyacá.
