Carlos Sainz won pole position for the 2022 British Grand Prix – F1sport.cz

Shortly before qualifying for the 2022 British Grand Prix, it started to rain. During the fights for the fastest time, the intensity of the rain changed. The riders thus drove all three sections on tires in transitional conditions. Apart from trips off the track, the qualification was without major incidents.

Albon, Magnussen, Vettel, Schumacher and Stroll did not advance from the first part. Alex Albon was the only Williams driver to fit new parts at Silverstone and complained that the team told him to run a cooling lap towards the end of qualifying. Teammate Nicholas Latifi deprived Albon of advancement by 0.08 seconds. Latifi eventually managed to make it all the way to Q3.

Gasly, Bottas, Cunoda, Ricciardo, Ocon did not advance to the last part.

In the last part, the order changed again. Verstappen was in the lead for a long time, despite the fact that he made a number of mistakes. The fastest time was set by Carlos Sainz in the end, who thus won his first pole position in his career.
