The Campus Judo Rieti, active since 13 June at the “Carlo Jucci” scientific high school, is having great success and approval by families.
It is a sports campus where experts and graduates in physical education conduct lessons and tournaments not only regarding well-known sports such as judo, basketball, volleyball, tennis, boxing light contact, bootcamp, five-a-side football and badminton, but also regarding new sports that have never been practiced. like foobaskill, poul ball, madball, flag football etc .. A lot, a lot, sport but also an important project: “Knowing the territory”.
The students on campus explain: “We did circuit training in the areas set up with tools in the Via Theseider Park and in the Giorlandina area, we did fitness along the banks of the Velino river, climbing and archery in Colle San Mauro, we did excursion to Terminillo with a visit to the church of S. Francesco and trekking along the planetary path, we did sprint interval training at the Colle di Sant’Antonio al monte and sprint training on the staircase and uphill running throughout the historic center of Rieti with a visit to Piazza Vittorio Emanuele, the Vignola Gardens, Piazza San Rufo and the Pozzi area, we walked around the city walls, stopping to discover the history of each of the five gates of the city, we did an orienteering run at the Parco Vi June 1944 and much more still needs to be done ”.
The goal of the project is to create unforgettable experiences for each stage, and to keep the spirit of adventure alive in an environment we already know – the manager tells us – ours is a sports campus which, as the families have reported, turns out to be an opportunity of human growth necessary not only to restart, not only for cultural and educational growth, but for the opportunity that is given to new generations to discover and get to know their land, acquiring skills and at the same time enhancing resources and beauties we have”.
Until the whole week just passed, the campus boasted, thanks to the will of the head teacher, Professor Stefania Santarelli, as happened last year, the precious collaboration in the activities of the Jucci summer center where he worked alongside sports science professors of the institute and the students of the sports science high school, from Monday the Rieti Judo Campus will continue for two more weeks until July 29, 2022.
