Güneş said, “I am very honored to represent Mardin in a large and devoted community like Beşiktaş. My aim is to provide great services to both Beşiktaş and Turkish sports. To achieve big goals in basketball in Beşiktaş with a new and long-term structuring in the basketball branch that I am the head of. Basketball in Turkey is a sports branch that has a great place in Europe and we have a great potential. As a country, our aim in this branch is continuity and success on long-term solid foundations rather than temporary successes in the short term. Currently, our basketball team is one of the youngest cadres in Turkey. We have very successful and promising players in our infrastructure, our coach and our team, we are aware of this potential and we aim to bring our Beşiktaş to great goals in basketball.”
