ATP > Nadal (about Toni): “If I hadn’t had people to guide me on the right path, maybe I would never have had this spirit of perseverance and surpassing myself”

Could Rafael Nadal have been so strong if he hadn’t had Toni as a mentor and coach since childhood?

The question deserves to be asked, especially since Rafa continues to pay tribute to his uncle, without always quoting him, during his interviews about this famous resilience he has shown since the start of his career.

Interviewed by the airline Iberia during an interview centered on his academy, the Mallorcan readily admitted that without Toni, his career could have been very different.

“If I hadn’t had people to guide me on the right path, maybe I would never have had this spirit of perseverance and self-transcendence. Despite the adversities, I’ve always had a good attitude and a positive spirit, and that’s something we try to pass on to young people. Because there will always be difficult times, but the important thing is to accept them, work hard and look to the future with optimism. »
