As part of the renewal of its governing bodies, the Elective General Assembly of the Beninese Federation of Baseball / Softball (F2BS) will take place on September 07, 2022 in Cotonou. In this perspective, a call for applications for the various positions of the federal executive is launched from Monday, July 25, 2022.
According to article 18 of the Statutes, the Executive Committee of the F2BS is composed of 13 members including one (01) President; a 1st Vice-president; A 2nd Vice-President; One (01) Secretary General; One (01) Deputy Secretary General; One (01) General Treasurer; One (01) Deputy General Treasurer; One (01) Organization Manager with three (03) Assistants; Two (02) Members including a Referee and a Woman.
Similarly, Article 39 of the Statutes stipulates that any person of Beninese nationality who fulfills the following conditions may be elected as a member of the F2BS Executive Committee: Be at least twenty-five (25) years old on the date of the elections ; belong to the sports movement in the governing bodies at various levels for at least two (02) years; never have been convicted of an infamous sentence; enjoy their civil and political rights; be sponsored by an affiliated and active League or Sports Association and up to date with its dues. In the note dated July 25, 2022 and sent to the presidents of the affiliated and active Associations, it was mentioned that the functions of the members of the Executive Committee of the Beninese Federation of Baseball / Softball are incompatible with those of members of the Executive Committee of the Leagues , Districts and Associations affiliated to this same Federation. The same note emphasizes that outgoing members are eligible for re-election. This, in accordance with point 6 of the Ethics and Good Governance Agreement between the National Olympic and Sports Committee of Benin, the Member Sports Federations and the Affiliated Associations. “Any candidate for the position of President or Secretary General of the Federation must, (whether this latter position is elective or nominative), in addition to the preceding provisions, have been a member of the executive of the said federation, and/or assume responsibilities within the federal administration, at least, on a complete Olympiad”, specifies the note.
What about the documents to be provided…
With regard to the documents to be provided, there is, among other things, a handwritten request addressed to the Secretary General of the Beninese Baseball/Softball Federation specifying the coveted position(s) and its association; a copy of the valid national identity document; a criminal record dating from less than three (03) months, a certificate of sponsorship from a league, or an affiliated and active association; proof of belonging to the Sports Movement in the governing bodies at various levels for at least two (02) years. In addition, applications must be sent in sealed envelopes to the secretariat of the Beninese National Olympic and Sports Committee, located at the Maison des Fédérations, at Haie Vive in Cotonou, on Wednesday, August 24, 2022 at 6 p.m. at the latest. Recall that the Elective General Assembly of the F2BS will take place on September 07, 2022 in Cotonou.
