After the defeat in the derby in the capital and a series of poor results, Adrián Romero’s cycle in the technical direction of Universitario came to an end. The club confirmed the departure of the Argentine coach, after he made his position available on Sunday night after the fall against Independiente.
The decision was made this Monday at a board meeting “by mutual agreement,” they reported from the student club.
“We thank Prof. Adrián Romero and the coaching staff that accompanied him, thank you very much for your commitment to the Club! Much success… Blessings”, reads the message published on the “U” page on Facebook.
Romero’s departure was imminent, since after the defeat against Independiente, on Sunday night, he made his position available and said goodbye to the squad of players.
In this way, the Argentine coach closes his second spell at Universitario with a win and a draw in nine games. His first match of this cycle was against Independiente, on May 7, 2022, when he fell 1-0 for the thirteenth date of the Opening Tournament.
In his first cycle at the head of the “U”, Romero could not avoid relegation in 2018.
