Jacobson said she was shocked to learn the film, which covered a season in the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League, was about Tom Hanks’ character. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Jacobson said, “In some places where you watch the film, the description is that it’s about a beat-up player who coaches a women’s league, and it’s like, ‘That’s it what this movie is about?!’“
