a senior men’s basketball team will be hired next season

Already, a dozen volunteers, from various clubs, constitute the backbone. “We even have a rower of almost two meters and a pétanque player, who will dribble in the gymnasium”, announced the two player coaches. This will also give prospects to the youngest who were forced to leave the PST Basket, for lack of outlets within the club.

Several departures

Another highlight of the morning was the departure of the Degos sisters, Camille and Melissa, after 25 years in the service of the PST Basket. Both the president and the two starters could not hold back their tears when the bouquets and the wreath of thanks were handed over. Previously, Camille, departmental referee, had the concern to prepare the succession since Magalie Cazalis is already engaged in the training which will lead her to take the whistle. Elsa Jousseaume, Lina Hajji and Lou-Ann Baudimont, who are leaving PST Basket for Cap-de-Gascogne Basket-Landes, were also dismissed, as was Murièle Lalanne, the club’s referee.

For the rest, the club recorded an increase in the number of licensees (146 against 137 in 2019), including 104 young people. The senior team, coached by Camille Degos, had a chaotic season, for lack of sufficient staff, so much so that Leïla Hajji was called in as reinforcements “to save the homeland”. And, in fact, the team remains in the Preregion, the highest departmental level. The Basketball School has about ten teams which, thanks to serious supervision, have all held their rank.
