Wimbledon 2022: Nadal opens the Wimbledon Central against Berrettini

To alleviate this, Wimbledon decided that this year the tennis players should train in Central and on Court 1, until now reserved only for the best matches, in the week before the tournament.

Rafa Nadal and Matteo Berrettini have been in charge of opening the Central Court as the setting for training sessions prior to the tournament. This was the second training session of the day for Nadal, who previously entered one of the tracks at Aorangi Park together with Francis Roig and Marc López. It was a light training session, with a view to Berrettini’s game, and after beating Stan Wawrinka yesterday in the Hurlingham exhibition.

The Spanish will play again this Friday against the Canadian Felix Auger-Aliassime in Hurlingham, in what will be his last preparatory match before the start of Wimbledon. In addition, Nadal will play that match already knowing his first rival and his path in the tournament, since the draw will take place at 10 am in London this Friday.
