Daniil Medvedev apparently has a problem with his coach. At the final in Halle, which ended with a clear defeat for the Russian against Hubert Hurkacz, there was a scandal.

After the first set, which Medvedev clearly lost 6-1, the world number 1’s fuses blew. As TV recordings show, the Russian insulted his coach with a veritable tirade. He then packed his things and left the stadium in Halle.
Medvedev had already put his coach Gilles Cervara, who has been looking after him for five years, in his place at the Australian Open 2021. “I can not hear you. Just be quiet and let me play,” Medvedev told the Frenchman in front of the TV cameras.
