Valence-d’Agen. Great success of the departmental judo tournament

For two years, the pandemic disrupted or quite simply blocked many large sporting events which could not take place, judo in particular. Here we go again, activities have resumed, and it was an opportunity for the Judo-Club de l’Alva to organize a labeled interclub tournament, with the participation of the clubs of the department, during the weekend of 21 and May 22. For the occasion, the Cosec was transformed into a giant dojo with a 400 m2 tatami. To begin with, on Saturday afternoon, the graduation ceremony took place. The 125 members of the Valencian club marched in front of the stands where relatives and friends had come to honor them with their presence, despite the heat. The recipients were rewarded with a new belt, a diploma and gifts.

The following day, Sunday, 380 judokas from all over the department participated in a departmental-labeled tournament during the day with 17 clubs registered. The Valencian judokas shone for their participation in number and for their results; indeed, some have climbed to the highest step of the podium.

After two years without judo or almost, the leaders and teachers of the Valence-d’Agen club were happy with the success of the organization of this weekend thanks to the significant mobilization of parents and members who supplied the bar with pancakes and cakes, participated in the installation of the tatami mats and went in search of advertising partners for this event. They were there for both days. The president of the community of communes of Deux-Rives and mayor of Valence-d’Agen, Jean-Michel Baylet, had wanted to meet the organizers, including the president of the Judo-Club, Véronique Noguera. He also participated in the award ceremony. The rescuers ensured the safety of the competitors.

The judokas of the community of communes invite you to meet on Sunday, June 26, for their annual garage sale.
