FC Bayern have improved their offer for Liverpool attacker Sadio Mané. Even the new offer would not bring the English to the negotiating table. The “Times” reports – and gives specific figures.
DAccording to reports in the British media, Liverpool FC has also rejected a second offer from FC Bayern Munich for the Senegalese Sadio Mané. The German record champion is said to have increased his first offer from 25 million to 30 million pounds including bonus payments, as reported by several newspapers on Wednesday. This corresponds to a little more than 35 million euros. This fee for the 30-year-old attacker should contain bonuses of up to 7.5 million euros.
The Premier League club from Liverpool, coached by Jürgen Klopp, still considers the offer to be too low and is particularly bothered by the fact that the conditions for the bonus payments offered are unrealistic, the reports said. The newspaper “The Times” wrote that Liverpool only wanted to enter into negotiations with the Munich-based company if there was a bid for 42.5 million pounds (about 50 million euros).
According to “Bild”, the parties would come closer. Club boss Oliver Kahn and sports director would soon be planning a trip to Liverpool to make personal appearances. They want to offer Mané a three-year contract.
Mané’s move to Munich has been speculated for weeks. The African is being traded as a potential successor to Serge Gnabry, whose future in Munich remains uncertain. Mané could also replace goalgetter Robert Lewandowski, who is willing to change.
“Now we have to wait and see,” says Mané
The star striker, whose contract with Liverpool runs until the summer of 2023, is currently qualifying for the Africa Cup of Nations with the Senegal national team. With a converted penalty, Mané ensured the 1-0 victory over Rwanda in injury time (90+8 minutes) on Tuesday.
Mané himself had recently dampened the rumors about his departure from England. “I wanted to make it clear that I am still under contract at Liverpool and have great respect for the club. As I’ve said before – now it’s time to wait and see,” the attacker said this week after fueling the transfer rumors himself.
Like everyone else, he is also on social media and can see the comments of his followers and fans, Mané explained: “I guess 60 to 70 percent of Senegalese want me to leave Liverpool. I will do what they wish.”
