The British announce their long list for the Worlds

The British national coaches for the eventing discipline announced today the names of the fifteen couples who will make up their nominative entries for the FEI World Championships in Pratoni del Vivaro, which will take place in Italy from September 14th to 18th.

Reigning world champion, Rosalind Canter is the only one to have three horses in the race. They are Allstar B (KWPN, Ephebe For Ever x Erkstein), which allowed him to be crowned at Tryon in 2018, Lordships Graffalo (SHBGB, Grafenstolz x Rock King) and Pencos Crown Jewel (SHBGB, Jumbo x Rock King). World number one, Oliver Townend, has two of his mounts added to this list: Ballaghmor Class (ISH, Courage II) and Swallow Springs (ISH, Chillout x Cult Hero). The other ten British duos vying for a Worlds appearance are:

  • Sarah Bullimore and Corouet (Old, Balou du Rouet x Lovis Corinth), individual bronze medalists at the European Championships in Avenches last year
  • Kirsty Chabert and Classic VI (AES, Calvaro), recent runners-up in the CCI 5*-L at Luhmühlen
  • Laura Collett and London 52 (Holst, Landos x Quinar), Olympic team champions in Tokyo last summer and victorious in the mythical CCI 5*-L of Badminton this season
