Founder of a school on the Ohio side, with the idea of helping young people in their education, LeBron James has just learned terrible news at the end of the week. A young man, very close to the establishment, was killed this Thursday evening following a fight. The King, on his Twitter account, was quick to react to the drama.
LeBron James has never stopped contributing to the community in Ohio, where he decided a few years ago to build a school, the “I Promise School”, to help many young people. A great idea that continues to make a difference to this day, even if the King has just learned terrible news during this weekend. Indeed, we have just learned via the authorities that a youngster of barely 17 years old was killed very close to the school, in a basketball court to be more precise.
The person was found Thursday evening, and was allegedly involved in a fight with at least three other people. Etham Liming, the victim, would have quickly found himself on the ground, before being “beaten”. The police confirm that his friends, present with him, quickly sped home to call 911, but the authorities arrived too late to save the youngster.
LeBron mourning after terrible news
Liming was still breathing when authorities were called, but was pronounced dead hours later. A vigil took place on the ground this Friday evening, just to pay tribute to him. Note that this is sadly the fourth person to die around the school of LeBron James. Two children lost their lives in a fire at the end of May, while another was shot and killed during an altercation.
Christine Fowler, principal at this school, spoke quickly in a press release:
The death of a student affects us all. Ethan’s passing is, sadly, something we have experienced far too often this year. Let’s all take a moment from our daily duties to give thanks for the lives of these children. May we keep a memory of them alive. Each of these losses reminds us how precious life is.

A terrible tragedy for this young man and his family, as well as for this school in Akron. We can only offer our condolences to the family, just like LeBron James, inevitably affected by this tragedy.
