Tamanégi Judo Griesheim takes silver


The Tamanégi Judo Griesheim team was able to successfully fight for second place at the open Schwalbacher city championship in 2022.

On Saturday, May 21st, 2022, the open city championship took place in Schwalbach am Taunus, to which the Tamanégi Judo Griesheim team also traveled to prove their skills. For most judoka it was the first tournament after a Corona break of more than two years, so that all competitors were highly motivated and looking forward to this day. In addition to the Tamanégi Judo Griesheim, five other teams from the region competed against whom it was necessary to assert themselves on the mat. Each team fight was fought in five weight classes, with Christian Kühte (-66kg), Johannes Roßbach (-73kg), Anek Naksuwan (-73kg), Dominik Wassmer (-81kg) as well as Felix Seitz and Niklas Schnorrbusch (each -/+ 90kg) went to the start.
In the first fight, the Tamanégi judoka faced the hosts from Schwalbach directly. Since they had home advantage, all of the Griesheimers who traveled with them cheered their own competitors on the mat all the louder, so that after three wins by Christian Kühte, Dominik Wassmer and Felix Seitz, the fight ended 3:2 for the guests from Griesheim.
In the second fight against Judokwai Elz-Hadamar-Limburg, the judoka from Griesheim had to admit defeat with 1:4 despite strong fights.
Immediately afterwards things went uphill again, because with three wins by Johannes Roßbach, Felix Seitz and Niklas Schnorrbusch, the Tamanégis were also able to win the fight against Frankfurt 3:2.
The fight against the judoka of the friendly club from Rimbach also ended with 3:2 for the Tamanégi.
In the last team fight of the day for the judoka from Griesheim against Großkrotzenburg it got exciting again, because he started with a strong fight from Christian Kühte over the full fight time, which finally ended in a draw. Then Johannes Roßbach, Dominik Wassmer and Felix Seitz won their fights and thus brought the victory for Griesheim with a 3:1.
In the end, the Tamanégi Judo Griesheim was able to celebrate second place with four wins and one loss against the first-placed judoka of the Judokwai and take home the silver trophy. All in all, it was a great tournament day with many exciting, fair and friendly fights.
