Syntainics MBC brings home-grown Ralph Hounnou back

Weißenfels (dpa) – Bundesliga team Syntainics MBC is bringing back player Ralph Hounnou. The 20-year-old, 1.92 meter tall player signed a one-year contract and is a real homegrown player who was trained at the Central German Basketball Academy (MBA). After four years as a professional, he is now returning to Weißenfels via stopovers in Munich, Ludwigsburg and Bonn. In addition, he should continue to collect match practice via a double license with cooperation partner BSW Sixers in the ProB. Hounnou, who comes from the West African Republic of Benim, has had German citizenship since 2021.

“I’m happy that a Weissenfels native has made it into our professional team, albeit via a roundabout route. Ralph is a physically strong combo guard with a lot of potential,” said head coach Igor Jovovic. Hounnou himself said: “The return to Weißenfels has come full circle for me, so to speak. My goals are quite simply defined: I want to collect my first few minutes of play in the Bundesliga, take another step in my development.”
