Shohei Ohtani exploded on offense against the Royals

Japanese batter Shohei Ohtani had an offensive day to remember this Tuesday at Angel Stadium; but despite his efforts, the Los Angeles Angels ended up being defeated in 11 episodes by a score of 12-11 against the Kansas City Royals.

The player of both ways hit three hits; including two home runs, with two runs scored and eight RBIs; becoming just the fifth player in the franchise and third at Angel Stadium with at least two homers and eight RBIs or more. (see next box)

With this performance, Ohtani left his average at .260 (from 262-68) with 15 shots, 45 charters, 44 runs scored, OBP of .331 and OPS of .820 in 68 games played; figure with which he is one of eight players in the AL with that number of games played.

Another who also stood out for the Angels at the post was Jared Walsh, who hit a triple, double and home run in six visits to the plate, with a couple of runs scored and the same number of RBIs; staying one single away from completing his second cycle of the season.

Can’t find the formula

The Angels, however, who came from behind a couple of times in the game; they could not maintain the tie on the board and woke up this Wednesday as eighth in the new circuit in hits allowed (546), with the fifth highest number of runs allowed (298) and the third highest number of home runs (13).

However, with this new defeat; the number 38 of the season for the “seraphim”, they are placed five games below .500 and drop to third place in the American League West.
