Shaquille O’Neal has in fact ensured the continuity of his family for several generations with his career gains, but above all with his well-considered investments. On this occasion, he had to reveal his monthly expenses, which turned out to be as gargantuan as he was. Essentially Sports recently took charge of bringing them back, starting with one of his regular purchases which seems totally crazy and irresponsible these days!
Back then, Shaq used to buy 7,000 gallons of gas a month. He’s always been a huge car enthusiast, but even so, his carbon footprint was huge. Besides, even for a man as wealthy as Shaq, $23,000 a month just for gasoline seems unbelievable and unreal. Even a little too excessive for that matter.
The Diesel has never lived up to its name so well. Joking aside, was he really consuming 26,460 liters of gasoline per month, or was he simply stocking up on suspicion of a possible future price hike? To believe his recent stupid technique to spend less at the pump, it is the first option that seems the most plausible. Anyway, the former pivot did not catch up with this madness with his other charges:
That’s not all. (…) He was spending around $200,000 a month. Besides the $23,000 spent on gas, his expenses included $110,000 for travel, $26,500 for babysitting, $17,000 for clothing, and $1,500 for cable TV. All of this obviously does not take into account the mandatory expenses for food or things like that.
Each sum deserves an entire paragraph, as the figures put forward seem unimaginable to ordinary mortals. Nevertheless, with his annual salary of $20 million at the time, and his other earnings through his sponsorship deals, O’Neal could ultimately afford such a bill. With a fortune estimated today at some $400 million, he has nothing to be ashamed of!
