paul abin revalidated this Thursday the gold in the Oran Mediterranean Games by winning in badminton, in the individual modality, against the also Spanish Kike Pealver (21-13 and 22-20).
Abin and Pealver were precisely men’s doubles runners-up last Monday in these same games that are held in neighboring Algeria.
With this podium Spain adds two golds after the judoka on Wednesday, Fran Garrigswill be proclaimed champion in the final of -60 kilos against the Tunisian Fraj Dhouibi.
So far Spain, which hosted the last edition of 2018 in Tarragona, has 17 distinctions (7 silver and 8 bronze) in a ranking led by Turkey, Italy and Algeria.
For Abin it is the fourth medal in a Mediterranean Games, after the silver of Mersin 2013, the gold of Tarragona 2018 and the silver of the current ones of Orn 2022.
