For the Ortoetruria WeCom comes the standing ovation of the public, which celebrates an extraordinary season that got out of hand at the most beautiful.
Umberto Fanciullo’s biancostellati are beaten 60-68 by the blue star Roma in game 3 of the playoff final and are forced to abandon the dream of promotion to Serie B. At least for this year.
After the victory in the opening match and the defeat in the capital in the final minutes, the Viterbo team fails to win the decisive match. And it’s a shame, given the numbers collected over the course of the year with 15 wins out of 16 races in the regular season, four out of six in the promotion phase and five out of eight in the playoffs.
WeCom is a source of pride for Ortoetruria to be able to play a final for Serie B, eight years after the last time and five years after relegation to Serie C. Thanks to the coach and a solid club led by president Giorgio Ricci and vice president Marcello Meroi, protagonists of an extraordinary job.
After the disappointment, in the summer, the planning for a new Serie C gold championship will begin, very difficult both from the point of view of the quality of the opponents and from the purely financial point of view. But the Blue Star, rightly, will think about it starting tomorrow.
