Eleven girls won the Baltic Cup in January. Annija Brence, Monika Vapne, Megija Zeltiņa, Dārta Mālniece, Evelīna Otto (captain), Dārta Īvāne, Madara Šmite, Estere Petrus, Krista Lukašēvica, Elza Palma and Luīze Bērziņa played in Tallinn.
The Latvian U16 national team played in the second division of the Baltic League, earned a balance of 10-10 and ranked sixth. At least 25 games were played by 25 girls. The most – Dārta Mālniece (17), was followed by Elza Palma (15), Luīze Bērziņa (13), one less by Dārta Īvāne, Monika Vapne, Evelīna Otto and Megija Zeltiņa.
The small players Madara Šmite and Kitty Muzikante accumulated their playing practice in the ranks of Liepāja – the former in an average of 19 minutes, the latter twice less. Megija Zeltiņa and Annija Brence played in Jugla (15 and nine games, respectively), Marta Kaupmane represented Ogres Kolibri (15), and Ance Kreicberga represented Jūrmala (16).
The largest group played in the second team of the junior basketball school “Riga” – Estere Petrus (15 games), Krista Lukashevica, Elza Palma (12 each), Paula Putniece (5) and Emilija Skudra (3). The girls often also represented the first team – Krista Lukašēvica took the field in 21 games and Estere Petrus in 17.
In August 2021, the three girls went to Helsinki, the capital of Finland, to host the FIBA Challenger Games. Krista Lukašēvica scored 5.0 points in five battles in an average of 24 minutes and won 5.8 balls under the baskets. Madara Šmite had 6.4 points and 6.4 rebounds in 15 minutes, as well as 2.2 assists, but Evelīna Otto left the field in three fights.

The European Championship will take place after a three-year break. Latvian cadets in Group C will play against Norway, Belgium from the third basket and Portugal from the fourth basket. France, the Czech Republic, Denmark and Greece will compete in Group D. The following pairs will be in the eighth final: C1-D4, C2-D3, C3-D2, C4-D1.

On May 20, the board of FIBA Europe in Vilnius excluded Russia from competitions for national teams, youth teams and clubs. Russia will be replaced by Norwegian cadets.
