A sure bet in Ligue 1 in his Guingamp era (2015-2019), Nicolas Benezet (31) left France before the Covid-19 pandemic to join MLS (Toronto, Colorado then Seattle, editor’s note). But he’s back! And more precisely in his favorite club, in Nîmes, where he breathes happiness.
“The love of the jersey, it cannot be bought, it cannot be invented, declared in Midi-Libre the one who has been training with Nîmes since the end of his American contract, last January. I discovered a totally different culture and approach to sport, I joined, I enjoyed myself. In January, when I started the sessions with Nîmes, I thought I was going to return to the United States. And finally, I am there, in my city, in my club. The page is turning. Going back to Nîmes, to Costières, it’s priceless for me. Coming back and finishing here was one of my dreams.”
And they lived happily and scored a lot of goals.
