Murray easily won 6: 4 and 6: 3 against the Australian qualifier Christopher O’Connell in Stuttgart on Tuesday after a 3-0 false start. The Scot, now 68th in the ATP ranking, will now meet Kazakhs Alexander Bublik or Denis Kudla from the USA.

Tsitsipas on a shopping spree

The Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas used his first days in Stuttgart for interesting purchases, among other things. He got underwear and a fire extinguisher, said the cheerful world number five at a press conference on Tuesday. He didn’t have enough underwear with him, joked Tsitsipas. He could use the fire extinguisher if he had too much energy and set his home on fire, the 23-year-old continued to report with a laugh.

Tsitsipas is number one at the Weissenhof. He arrived in the city on Saturday with his parents and his brother Petros, with whom he competes in doubles in Stuttgart. Tsitsipas will play his first individual match on Thursday in the round of 16 of the event, which is endowed with 769,645 euros.
