Breen missed Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Finals between the Boston Celtics and Miami Heat and was also out for Games 1 and 2 of the Finals. Mark Jones replaced Breen as playman for the last three assignments.
Breen, 61, was joined on the sidelines by fellow announcer Jeff Van Gundy and ESPN insider Adrian Wojnarowski in Game 1, but the former returned for Game 2.
