Medvedev, number one in the world, will debut against Munar or Karátsev

The Russian Daniil Medvedev, number one in the world and current champion of the ATP 250 Mallorca Championschips, will debut against the winner of the match between his compatriot Aslán Karátsev and the Spanish Jaume Munaraccording to the draw for the Balearic tournament table held this Saturday in which 28 tennis players participate.

The Greek Stéfanos Tsitsipas, sixth in the ATP ranking and second favorite, will play against the winner of the duel between the Finn Emil Ruusuvuori and the Belarusian Ilyá Ivashka. The order of the crosses has also determined that Medvedev and the Spaniard Pablo Carreño transit through the upper part of the draw, coinciding with the Australian Nick Kyrgios, who will debut against the Serbian Laslo Djere.

The also Spanish and fifth seed, Roberto Bautista, will face an opponent from the previous phase in his debut, while Feliciano López will meet the Dutchman Tallon Griekspoor. The Argentine and eighth favorite, Sebastián Baez, awaits an opponent from the qualifying phase. Completing the lower part are the duels between the German Daniel Altmaier and the Serbian Dusan Lajovic, in addition to the clash between the American Mackenzie McDonald and the Portuguese Joao Sousa.

With the preliminary phase still underway, this Sunday the first matches of the Mallorca Championschips will be played on the natural grass courts of the Mallorca Country Club. Medvedev, Tsitsipas, Shapovalov and Carreño are exempt from the first round due to their status as top four seeded teams and expect a rival in the round of 16.
