MEDAL! El Salvador begins to shine in Bolivarianos with a bronze

A bronze was already hung in El Salvador at the Valledupar fair. Skating and Ivonne Nóchez do not fail on the podium

The joys begin to arrive for the country, in the Bolivarian Games of Valledupar 2022, in Colombia. El Salvador started the competitions on the right foot, and the bets for medals became a reality, after the first day of competition.

Thus, the skater Ivonne Nóchez conquered the first medal for the country, after harvesting a bronze in the 200-meter test goal against goal. The flag bearer of the country met the expectations that were had of her and gave her best, before a high level of her rivals.

This allowed Nóchez, who is at a great moment in national skating, to finish the test with a time of 19.265 seconds. The Salvadoran woman was only surpassed by Chapina Dalia Soberanis, who took the gold after being the fastest over the final finish line, with a time of 18.939. For her part, the second place and silver metal went to the local María Timms, who finished the test in 19.14.

After this, Nóchez, who in 2021 was a medalist at the I Junior Pan American Games and a World medalist, declared to the El Salvador Olympic Committee (Coes): “I feel very happy, happy with the result. The truth is that we expected to obtain a medal, and proud to represent El Salvador”.

The national, however, was clear that it could have played a role superior to this. “I can do better. I wanted to improve my time, but it was not possible, but a medal was achieved that is for the country. Happy about this, but we hope to improve times in the next competitions”, she said.

The other competitions where there are nationals, and which have also already started, are karate, bowling, badminton and futsal. The latter played last night against Venezuela. In addition, on Friday, the inauguration was held, in which the other flag bearer was the karate fighter Jorge Merino.
