The Houston Rockets have finalized a trade to send intern Christian Wood to the Dallas Mavericks, The Athletic’s Shams Charania reported.
The Mavericks will send Boban Marjanovic, Sterling Brown, Trey Burke, Marquese Chriss and the 26th pick in the upcoming draft to the Rockets for Wood.
The 26-year-old averaged 17.9 points, 10.1 rebounds, 2.3 assists and one block in 68 games with the Rockets last season and will now be one of Luka Doncic’s main offensive partners.

The Rockets were looking to move Wood to open up playing time for promising 19-year-old center Alperen Sengun, multiple reports said.
The Rockets now have three first-round picks in next week’s draft, including the No. 3 and No. 17 picks.
Wood is entering the final year of a three-year, $41 million deal he signed in 2020. He had a strong season with the Detroit Pistons in 2019-20, averaging 13.1 points in 62 games after playing a combined 72 games. during its previous three seasons.
