Matt Giteau’s US team disqualified for ‘rule violation’

Thunderbolt in the American championship. Major League Rugby, which manages the championship, has announced that the Giltinis de Los Angeles team, where former Wallabies star Matt Giteau plays, has been disqualified from the competition for “breaking the rules”. According to several North American media, the club would not have respected the rules in terms of salary cap (ceiling of the wage bill).

This is the second exclusion of a team this season, after that of the Austin Gilgronis. The LA Giltinis, who were defending champions, had advanced to the conference semifinals of the championship and were set to challenge the Houston SaberCats. The latter are therefore directly qualified for the final where they will face the winner of the other duel between the Seattle Seawolves and the San Diego Legion.
