Martín Pérez was consecrated as the pitcher of the month in the American League

The Major Leagues published this Friday the players, rookies and pitchers of the month of May of both Leagues. A Venezuelan stands out in these awards, it is the left-handed pitcher of the Texas Rangers, Martín Pérez.

Pérez won recognition from the American League after putting up incredible numbers in May.

The native of Guanare in six starts achieved four wins, with an ERA of 0.64, 33 strikeouts in 42.1 innings pitched.

In the regular season, the Creole maintains a percentage of clean runs of 1.42, with 49 enemies struck out in 63.1 episodes worked.

Aaron Judge (Yankees) and Paul Goldschmidt (St. Louis) were the American and National League Players of the Month, while outfielders Julio Rodriguez (Seattle) and Luis Gonzalez (San Francisco) were rookies of the month.

On the old circuit, May’s pitcher was Philadelphia Phillies right-hander Zack Wheeler.

Yankees right-hander Clay Holmes and Pirates right-hander Clay Bednar were named the American and National League Reliever of the Month for May, respectively.
