Following multiple requests from the national federations regarding potential matches in the FIBA World Cup 2023 Qualifiers windows to be played in November 2022 and February 2023, the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) has shared the exact dates that the matches will be played. Thus, the matches that the national teams will play in these windows have been determined.
Accordingly, the groups will be divided as follows in the second round:
5th window: 7 – 15 November 2022
6th window: February 20 – 28, 2023
After the first round, the best 3 teams from groups A and B were included in Group I; The best 3 teams from groups C and D will join Group J. While the best 3 teams from groups E and F were included in Group K; The best 3 teams from groups G and H will participate in Group L.
After the decision to remove Belarus, the A National Men’s Basketball Team, which was in Group B with Great Britain and Greece, advanced directly to the second round. In the second round, the 4th window will be played on August 22-30.
Accordingly, Turkey, competing in Group B, will play its matches in the 5th window on November 10 and 13, 2022, and its matches in the 6th window on February 24 and 26, 2023. The rivals of the National Team will become clear after the Great Britain – Turkey match to be played on July 3, 2022, when the ranking is determined. In Group A, which will form the rivals of Group B, Serbia and Latvia advanced to the second round, the other team to be promoted will be Belgium or Slovakia.
