#LaFamilia gets into Europe Mode to face a summer in which they will face Greece and Lithuania on the way to EuroBasket 22

In just two weeks, the Men’s Absolute Selection will focus on Zaragoza to prepare for their first games of the summer, the most intense in recent years, a path in which the double dates that will be played against Greece and Lithuania shine with their own light. The three initial matches will correspond to the last Window of the qualifying phase for the 2023 World Cup, against North Macedonia and Georgia, plus the one that will face Ukraine, which should have been played in the February Window but was postponed after the beginning of the armed conflict in the country. This match will finally be played in a neutral venue, the capital of Latvia, Riga. With them begins the #LaFamilia Tour in Europe Modethe name under which the Federation has grouped the 14 matches already scheduled for this summer for the Men’s National Team between the officials, the preparation ones and those of the first phase of the EuroBasket 2022.

Three weeks after this first package of matches, the team will return to the #LaFamilia Tour in Europa Mode, this time with the actual preparation matches, as well as two matches from the second qualifying round for the World Cup, and the EuroBasket, whose group stage will play in Tblisi (Georgia). In total, the summer calendar of the Absolute Masculine Selection has fixed 14 games, 4 preparation and 10 officialto which must be added those that the team disputes in the final phase for the EuroBasket medals, in Berlin.

Of the four that will be played in Spain, the rivals of three are already known: North Macedonia (in Zaragoza, on July 1, PreWorld Cup), Greece (in Madrid, on August 11; the first leg of this double confrontation will be played on day 9 in Athens), and Lithuania (in Gran Canaria, on August 16; the second leg of the double confrontation will be on 18 in Vilnius). It is still unknown who he will play against Spain in Pamplona, on August 24, within the qualifying phase of the PreWorld Cup. The rival that the National Team will face in the second match of this official window of the PreWorld Cup, which will be played away from home on August 27, also remains to be determined. Both teams will come out of the three formed by Italy, Iceland and the Netherlands, the three classified from group H, once Russia has been disqualified.

The disqualification of Russia also affects Spain in the Eurobasket, since it was one of the teams drawn in the same group in the first phase. His place is already occupied by Montenegro, against which Spain will face on the fourth day.

After the summer, the National Team will resume its official activity with the last four matches of the second qualifying phase for the 2023 World Cup, which will be played next November and February.
