Kids to kick off USC’s 100th anniversary

La Charite-sur-Loire. Kids to kick off USC’s 100th anniversary. Two hundred students opened the festivities for the 100th anniversary of the Charitoise Sports Union (USC). Yesterday, from 10 a.m., they met at the sports facilities of La Chapelle-Montlinard.

Ten clubs responded to the call to offer children the opportunity to discover their disciplines. This is how these young people, who came from the Aumeunier-Michot college, the Clairs-Bassins and the Remparts schools, were able to try out different sports.

A bit like the “job dating” model, the students in groups of ten had half an hour for each discovery workshop. The merry-go-round continued until mid-afternoon. The formula was obviously satisfactory. “It’s really a very good formula, and it has to be done again,” observed one of the teachers. Only one regret, for her: that we didn’t have the idea to do it sooner!

The evening was to be busy, with the inauguration of two of the rehabilitated tennis courts, a long-standing request from the club, before a concert by the Orchester d’harmonie Charitois and a tournament for young members of the football club.

Today. The central day of these festivities will take place today. In the morning, focus on water sports on Faubourg Island. Kayak-polo on the Loire with the USC canoe-kayak, then activities around swimming and aquagym, beach volleyball tournament for college students and sports activities offered by the Municipal Youth Council at the summer swimming pool (from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.).

Then will come a great parade of sports clubs in the streets of the city with visual and musical entertainment. This ambulation will leave at 4 p.m. from the Alice-Milliat space (opposite the Clairs-Bassins school) to go to the Place du Général-de-Gaulle (note: restriction of car traffic in town).

Then head to the ramparts from 8 p.m. for a concert by the Black Flowers and the Madmen, followed by a sound and light show and a DJ evening.
