Excellent performance for the beginners of the CUS Siena judo who participated in the Saturday morning City of Rosignano Trophy Memorial “M. Monti”.
4 cussinis participated in the rookie class A, obtaining three medals and an excellent fifth place.
Daniel Kanbekyan in the -40kg category he won the silver medal by winning the first match dominating the fight and losing the second giving a hard time to the strong Pisan judoka Rocchi Giorgio.
Alvise Gallo in the -50kg category (giving over 3kg to his opponents) he fought 4 excellent matches, winning two and losing and two demonstrating an excellent versatility of holds and techniques both on the right and on the left which on several occasions made the Sienese win by displacing the opponents , thus making him win the bronze medal.
Leonardo Benza e Elia Domenichiniboth in the -45kg category both competed very well, finishing respectively in third and fifth place, both winning a match but accumulating different judo points over the course of the fights.
These four CUS athletes have shown that they have all the qualities to compete with the strongest Tuscan athletes, the result of a work that has been done in the last year. Although not having been able to have many competitive experiences, these young rookies have shown excellent qualities that give hope for excellent results in the next regional and national competitions.
