A big feast for seniors living sports to establish a healthy leisure culture through sports activities for senior citizens in Jeollanam-do will be held for the first time in three years in the era of daily recovery from Corona.

Jeollanam-do announced that the 17th Jeollanam-do Senior Life Sports Festival will be held for two days from the 17th in Haenam, the beginning of the Korean Peninsula, to promote friendship and harmony as well as sports exchanges between senior citizens in cities and counties.

This year, more than 2,000 seniors aged 60 and over from 22 cities and counties will participate in 9 sports, including gateball, archery, ground golf, badminton, mountaineering, soft tennis, gymnastics, table tennis, and park golf, and demonstrate their skills.

Jeollanam-do and Jeollanam-do Athletic Association plan to engage in recreational activities such as hitting the shoe target and twining the young to soothe the mind and body of the elderly who are tired of daily life and increase interest in the competition, so that the elderly can enjoy without burden.

In addition, for the win-win and harmony between Yeong and Honam, a daily sports exchange event in which 70 senior members of the Gyeongsangbuk-do Athletic Association participate in five sports, including gateball, ground golf, badminton, soft tennis, and table tennis, will also be held.

At the opening ceremony held at Haenam Wooseul Gymnasium on the 17th, the representative of the elderly club member declared the ‘7330 commitment to practice (30 minutes of exercise for 3 days a week)’, a sport that changes the body through exercise in daily life. A health award is awarded to the oldest contestants in each of the nine events, wishing for a healthy longevity and happy old age.
