“It’s not that I’m afraid…”: at the French Championships, Julian Alaphilippe will find out if he can do the Tour

Sixty-three days of intense pain, significant doubts, complicated first laps and finally Julian Alaphilippe is back. Since his terrible fall at more than 70 km/h against a tree during Liège-Bastogne-Liège, the double world champion had embarked on the most complicated time trial of his career: to be at the start of the Tour de France which begins on July 1 in Copenhagen when he found himself on a Belgian hospital bed with a pneumothorax, three ribs and a fractured shoulder blade.
