It became magical with Harry Potter

Neuwied.
After a digital Whitsun camp in 2020 and a camp to go in 2021, the joy was huge that a real camp could take place again this year. Under the motto “Harry Potter”, 105 children aged 5 to 15 spent four wonderful days on the old sports field in Feldkirchen. More than 30 supervisors and helpers were on duty almost around the clock.

Friday at 3 p.m. the time had finally come. One by one all the children trundled to the campsite. The Sorting Hat assigned the children to the four houses of Hogwarts Magic School. The children were given headbands according to the color of their house and designed a button with the house coat of arms. During a short tour of the site, all the rules and procedures were explained to the children. The children enjoyed the atmosphere around the campfire, bread on a stick and marshmallows were grilled.

The next morning, a magical Olympiad was on the agenda. In line with the motto, the caregivers had come up with various play stations that the children were allowed to complete in small groups. A ride on the magic broom, Aragog’s spider web and Voldemord’s special were some of them. After strengthening themselves with spinach, mashed potatoes and 450 fish sticks, “the four houses” faced off in a water fight and various other competitions. In the evening, the younger camp participants set out on a short night hike and marveled at the fireworks at the Whitsun fair from the vantage point. Meanwhile, the very popular but also dreaded “path of horror” awaited the older camp participants.

On Sunday, the four houses faced off in some exciting Quidditch matches and numerous wand making sessions. The tent camp disco was opened with the trimagic tournament in the evening and all the children rocked the dance floor into the night.

The next morning, the winning house was presented with the magic trophy before the parents came for the afternoon visit at noon. With a small program, delicious cake, grilled sausages and steaks, a wonderful tent camp came to an end, which became a special experience thanks to the help of many helpers and supervisors.
