Heinz Lindner is in the ÖFB goal against Denmark

Heinz Lindner will probably continue to play in Switzerland in the future: FC Sion is fishing for the Austrian national goalkeeper.

In the 3-0 away win in Croatia, Heinz Lindner completed his 31st international match for Austria. His next appearance will be against Denmark on Monday – confirmed by team manager Ralf Rangnick.

“The players already know about it. Heinz Lindner will play in this game,” said Rangnick. “Because Patrick and Heinz did very well in their games, it was the logical decision to give Lindner the last game.”

Lindner before moving to FC Sion?

He no longer has any minutes of action at his regular club FC Basel. The traditional club signed Marwin Hitz from Borussia Dortmund – the new clear number one.

Most recently, the 31-year-old was linked with a return to Vienna Austria, where the place between the posts is vacant after Patrick Pentz left.

Now everything points to staying in Switzerland. Again Blick reports, FC Sion is fishing for Lindner. “The deal hasn’t gone through yet. Maybe it will work out soon,” confirms club boss Christian Constantin’s interest.
