Haotong Li still in the lead. Antoine Rozner on the lookout!

If the Chinese Haotong Li, author of a masterful 62 (-10) on Thursday, retains control of the BMW International Open at -15 (129) thanks to a very solid 67 (-5), his lead is still as small. New Zealander Ryan Fox, in the form of his life, is second by one point while Dutchman Daan Huizing completes the podium at -12 (132). Seventh at -9 (135), Antoine Rozner remains in ambush, just like Romain Langasque, eleventh at -8 (136). Mike Lorenzo-Vera (-7), Frédéric Lacroix (-7) and Victor Perez (-6) will also be there this weekend.

Totally unleashed on Thursday under the Bavarian sun with his 62 (-10) error-free record, Haotong Li (photo) came back a bit within the norms this Friday at BMW International Open with a solid 67 (-5) once again flowered with an eagle, the third in two days for the current 281st player in the world.

At -15 (129) after 36 holes, the Chinese, who makes his 8th cut here in 10 starts this season on the DP World Touryet only has a small head start on the essential Ryan Fox. At 35, the New Zealander, son of the All Black legend, Grant Fox, is still at the forefront with his 64 (-8) without error. Whoever has already won this year (at Ras Al Khaimah Classic on February 13) and finished second twice (in Soudal Open and at Dutch Open) still hasn’t conceded a single bogey in two rounds. Simply impressive!

In search of a first success on the European Tour, the Dutchman Daan Huizing69 (-3) today, completes the podium at -12 (132), just ahead of some big fish like the Belgian Thomas Pieters or English Jordan Smithboth fourth at -11 (133).

Ten at the start this Thursday, the dissidents of the LIV Golf present at the beginning of the month Centurion Club and allowed to take part in this important DP World Tour tournament despite the sanctions formalized at the end of the morning by Keith Pelleyare doing pretty well since they are eight to cross the cut: Larrazabal, Canter, Kaymer, Garcia, Oosthuizen, Otaegui, Ormsby et Wiesberger. Only the South African Oliver Bekker and English Oliver Fisher remain at the dock.

Langasque goes on again…

The Azurean, unlike the Parisian, is on a good dynamic. He indeed validates here his fifth cut in a row, he who remains on two recent top 10s (7th in Scandinavian Mixed (June 12) and 8th in British Masters (8 May)).

Two hours of game interruption

Fourth after 18 holes, Mike Lorenzo-Vera moved back twelve ranks with his 71 (-1). The Basque is nevertheless in the top 20 (16th at -7) in the company of Frederic Lacroix who recorded his 6th cut of the season (for 14 starts). Victor Pereztwice 69 (-3), is beyond the top 25 (26th at -6) with in particular Martin Kaymer, who could not do better than a 72 (par).

Note that this second round was stopped for almost two hours due to the strong threat of thunderstorms in the Munich region. Fortunately, the last parts ended at nightfall…
