Gaia Stella bronze to the European judo in Croatia: “Excellent result, tomorrow the hunt for the last medal awaits us”

SERMONETA – Great joy for Gaia Stella, the Sermonetana who today in Porec (Croatia) won the bronze medal in the 57 kg at the European judo championships. The 17-year-old athlete has today crowned 12 years of training and sacrifices and in August she will participate in the world championships in Sarajevo. The blue Judo standard bearer Shihan Sermoneta has matured the result, followed live by the whole city, winning over the Slovenian Nika Tomc, the dangerous Croatian Jana Cvjetko, also imposing herself in the final against the Slovenian Masa Slavinec after the defeat against Hungarian Inez Bognar .

Excellent also the placements of Michela Terranova and Federico Bosis, fifth, together with three other seventh places, that of Federico Ninfo in the 66 kg and the double seventh in the 63 kg with Stefania Pede and Serena Maddaloni.

Tomorrow, Saturday 25 June, there will be the last individual competitions with the women’s categories of -70, +70 and men of -81, -90, +90 kg, two blue players in the race: Serena Ondei (70) and Tommaso Perfetti ( 81).

“The bronze of Gaia Stella is an excellent result even if Terranova certainly deserved more – said Francesca Campanini, female head coach – in any case they all gave their best and made me proud. Tomorrow the hunt for the last medal awaits us for which Serena Ondei will fight, and then everyone in the team competition on Sunday ”.
